The dreds are very loose and quite ugly honestly, but I still want dreds, just not the way they look like now. Can I get a do-over? So now my longest , the Bach are way past bra strap. My shortest. What was once my fringe and what had been shaved are past my shoulders. Most of my hair was chest length when I got my dreads ( long ). :). Ok so can I trim the extentions and some of my own. There too heavy when wet. And they look nicer a little shorter for me. Also. Some are a bit thinner and I lost a long one at the scalp ... A fat boy was stealing hair from him and he eventually list out sue to weight and weakness :(. Need a trim. Thanks in advance. Different ways of tying them up can help distribute the weight in different ways, and wearing them inside of a tam can take the pressure off of the scalp - although you'd need a pretty huge tam to accommodate all the length.

Trimming risks the ends opening up when the body of the dreads are still young - the 'new' tip can still be pretty soft and loose and so may be prone to unravelling - at 9.5 years you should be pretty safe there. The 'new' tip after the trim may still unlock for a inch or so, but won't unlock the whole dread. The problem is that when you trim the ends to try and remove the loose tips, what can end up happening is that if the dreadlocks are not old enough / strong enough then the "new" tips may simply become loose once you start washing them, and so nothing will be gained.Lazy Dreadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04347106588146572294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5535646833591113382.post-73014545630647280052015-06-17T09:41:14.829-07:002015-06-17T09:41:14.829-07:00How old should my dreads be before I trim just the...How old should my dreads be before I trim just the wispy ends?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07052684528050205725noreply@blogger.com
